Bowdoins in Belgium
Jay and Emily Bowdoin
We have been serving in Belgium since 2020 when God called us to return to the country that Emily grew up in to share the light and love of Jesus Christ. We have been working
in church, para-church, and member care ministries ever since. We couldn't do any of this without your prayer and financial support. We will be in the States raising funds to be able to return and continue in this work. Here you can read more about who we are, what we do, and how you can help us return to Belgium!
Our Ministries
Church Planting
At Redefined Church, we are shining God's light among the secular peoples of Europe through student ministry mentorship, developing Next Gen leaders, community outreach, and more.
Missionary Kid Care
As the Western Europe Representatives on the Europe MK Care Team, we provide pastoral care to missionary kids in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands.
Anti-Human Trafficking
Through Breaking Chains Network we work to offer hope, help, and healing to victims and survivors of prostitution and human trafficking in the red-light district of Antwerp, Belgium.
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” - Matthew 9:37-38
Thank you for sending us!
1.32% of Belgians are Evangelical Christians
"The [Belgian people] are usually Roman Catholics, but few attend mass regularly. Many have given up on spiritual matters and consider themselves agnostics or atheists... [Belgians] are considered "post-Christian" by many Evangelical theologians."
- The Joshua Project
Human Trafficking is
Modern Day Slavery
"Given the hidden nature of human trafficking, it is almost impossible to understand the full scope and scale of the issue... [However] there are an estimated 49.6 million victims trapped in modern-day slavery."
- Stop the Traffik
MKs are twice as likely to experience trauma
“The level of trauma missionary kids experience is much higher—nearly double—than that of kids who grow up in the United States. And yet their needs are often overlooked by missions agencies, local church partners, and even their own families on and off the mission field.”
- Rebecca Hopkins
